Variegated Alocasia Frydek

Bright indirect light:
The Variegated Alocasia Frydek needs plenty of soft light to maintain its white markings and characteristic velvety green. Variegation requires more energy, so the brighter the area (without direct sunlight), the better it will grow and the more defined its leaves will be.

Regular but precise watering:
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil are dry. In spring and summer, it usually needs watering every 4–7 days; in winter, water less frequently. It's important to maintain consistent moisture without waterlogging, as its roots are delicate and sensitive to excess water.

High humidity:
Like any good Alocasia, it thrives in 60–80% humidity. If the air is dry, use a humidifier, a saucer of damp pebbles, or place it near other plants. High humidity promotes larger, firmer leaves with pronounced variegation.

It needs a well-aerated and draining substrate: a mix for aroids with pine bark, coconut fiber, and perlite. Its thick roots and rhizome need space to grow vigorously. With adequate light, it will produce increasingly spectacular new leaves, although it's normal for the plant to go through dormant periods.
